The Overload Age on Information

The job of the news is to report on daily events that occur throughout the world. These reports deliver different perspectives through the use of language that supports their content and engages their audience. Though, we have accepted outlets like CNN, FOX to be the to go sources, it is factually true, that before people created businesses that reported information, we as individuals were/are reporting news daily through the words we speak, the experiences we have and what we hear. The advancement on technology through app creations like Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, Clubhouse has caused an inevitable shift on what we decide to take in through personalization of content to satisfy our needs.

So how are we in an age of overloaded information? You will find that due to the advancement of technology information is readily available at high speeds creating people to subconsciously and consciously ingest various language and coding. Another reason is when you start to tailor the information on what you are interested in your screen will produce these algorithms.

The repetitiveness of the consumption of information can be negative and positive depending on your interest as well as your emotions toward a particular topic. Emotions are notably one of the major reasons we have so much content at the tip of our fingers. The way you feel or how something makes you feel will bring out various results. For instance, if one views that wearing a mask is beneficial to them vs. one who does not wear a mask, the comparison can be conceptualized in a particular way that the mask and unmask wearer sees fit.

All in all the overload age on information can be seen in a negative and positive perspective. It is ultimately up to you as an individual to be sure to balance all that you will consume and to understand that spaces are very much different as they are the same making the age of overloaded information quite unique. Always remember to fact check on your own, from multiple sources, to curve the spread of misinformation.
