Psychology of Facebook Restrictions & Data Policies

Ultimately the time will come that there will be no privacy with control. Is it really hate and offensive or is it just human nature?

Today, I was formally restricted to comment, like and share on Facebook for 24 hours due to a comment I posted referencing that women are pedophiles too . It started from having a prior warning placed on my account of “offensive content”. As this has happen to many others whom eventually have experienced longer restriction periods the nature of the restrictions and how our posts do not align with Meta’s community standards creates a much needed conversation.

I started on Facebook in the year of 2008 where you would have to had a college email to access the platform. I have made 14 years worth of thoughtful posts, engagements and connections. Since then, Facebook has gradually changed now powered through Meta lists many new policies regarding users, privacy, terms/conditions and community standards(all data) regarding what and how they “now” collect our information. It is vital to always check websites data policies and know the difference between each data category. Furthermore, I don’t know much of what was listed initially under the Terms of Service or if there was even a commmunity standard at the time of when I join. I can only speculate through the scandal of Facebook, selling out information it’s has evolved into a massive data breach that may never be tame.

Various resources have reported Facebook gave outside organizations access to users messages, friends list, email phone numbers and have since then severed ties or vice a versa with these agencies. Furthermore, with the creation of Meta I wonder if this was the next step to soften the blow of this massive leak. I honestly view technology to be a entity that has its own quirks. I will say that censorship is a directive ploy by Facebook and it’s associates that now leave the very users whom were affected by the leak to have their page restricted.

The very foundation of Facebook with principles of sharing our instant thoughts is now disgorged by a created council to handout consequences of such sentences and words that trigger the alarm. If we are not able to speak our thoughts directly why would such a company needed to use them for currency? The behavior of Facebook has shown its course and as we still engage as consumers and ultimately the “content creators” do we mind our censorship with no privacy? Ultimately , I can have my day in front of the “council” to understand more on the frivolous sanction of my said deeds and maybe they will be forthcoming on the need to release and answer the question ….what is truly offensive?

My statement of women being pedophiles too are a factual thing. And to have my voice restricted for 24 hours overtime a factual statement is very interesting. I wonder if I used the word can instead of are would it be deemed a “hate speech”.
