The 2024 election (primary) is taking place 2/27/2024 and this primary will set the tone for the general election furthering the impact of the political climate’s temperature that feels hot, cold, lukewarm of explosives that will cause another rumble as the ground we have left shakes.
Previewing the sample ballot for my homestate I was confronted by a choice for the democratic party I have never seen before ….. UNCOMMITTED Yes, uncommitted, like no commitment of the imaginary spouse I have. So what could this possibly mean? I would do myself injustice if I didn’t google this term and of course I found articles regarding the scrutiny in which Mr. Biden the focal point of this interesting choice of free selection is the reason.
Verifying the actual meaning I had to go the the government website which explains this :
Uncommitted meaning
- Each major party’s candidate list includes the term ‘uncommitted.’ When a voter selects ‘uncommitted’ this implies that they are exercising a ‘party vote’ but are not committed to any of the candidates listed on the ballot. The uncommitted vote position does not rotate like other candidate names and remains in the position above the write-in line.
- When you choose ‘uncommitted’ you will need to fill in the oval or square next to that selection in order for it to count. If you do NOT fill in the oval or square, your choice will not count.
As I’m still confused on how this came about the implications I take from this is left up to the general consensus of voters to choose one of the democratic candidates and it can be a toss up on if Biden will be selected …. (This is confusing right?) Well as we set forth on this uncommitted journey take the time to study up and remember to vote for the congressional , senate local terms as-well and of course
May the force be with you!
